Most of what I know about design I learned outside of it.
From my garden in San Francisco's Outer Sunset, where I've spent years shaping something that grows and changes regardless of my plans for it. From architecture, which taught me that the best spaces don't announce themselves, they make you feel something before you understand why. From motorcycles, and the particular kind of focus that comes from moving fast and having to commit completely to every decision.
These things share something with the work I do. A belief that the details matter even when nobody notices them. That constraints are often where the most interesting ideas live. That the goal isn't to impress, it's to make something that feels inevitable once it exists.
That's what I bring to every project. A curiosity that doesn't stay in its lane, and a standard that doesn't move.
